Citadel Roofing was founded in 2014 by Shane Johnson, a Red Seal-certified roofer and waterproofer with deep roots in the Lower Mainland. Born and raised in Port Coquitlam, Shane began working in construction during his summer breaks at the age of 12. He graduated from Terry Fox Secondary in 1998 and quickly immersed himself in the roofing trade, where he developed both skill and discipline through hands-on experience.
Before launching Citadel Roofing, Shane spent over a decade honing his craft with industry leaders—10 years with Columbia Waterproofing and another 6 years with Mack Kirk Roofing. His extensive field experience and commitment to quality workmanship laid the foundation for building his own company from the ground up.
What began as a two-man crew in 2014 has since grown into a thriving team of over 18 employees in 2025, many of whom are progressing through the Red Seal apprenticeship program under Shane’s guidance. Citadel Roofing is proud to support and train the next generation of skilled tradespeople while maintaining the highest standards in commercial and residential roofing and waterproofing.
As a certified installer with Soprema, GAF (Master Elite), and PACs, Citadel Roofing continues to set the bar for reliable, code-compliant roofing solutions across the Lower Mainland.
